Behind the Scenes with the Preston Warehouse Team

Behind the Scenes with two warehouse workers

Behind the Scenes with Our Preston Warehouse Team

Without our warehouse team picking, packing and ensuring every order lands right on time, we’d be completely lost. Literally. It’s like a maze in there!

As part of our ‘Meet the Team’ series, we’re giving a big shoutout to our warehouse team – they keep the wheels turning and make sure our customers get the top-notch quality and reliability that Marldon’s known for.

With two warehouses, one in Preston and one in Guildford, our team works across both locations to ensure every order is picked. Packed and delivered on time.

Meet Rob – Warehouse Operative & Transport Assistant!

So, let’s dive right in and get to know the first member of our warehouse team – Rob!

What does your role at Marldon involve?

I see through the day-to-day general warehouse work and sometimes I’ll join the team in the office to help with transport duties.

What’s the most rewarding part of working at Marldon?

I’ve been with Marldon for a few years now and it’s been amazing to watch the business grow from strength to strength. The best part? Working alongside such a fantastic, strong team of people.

What’s a typical day like at Marldon for you?

My day always starts with a hot Vimto (it’s needed in the depths of winter!) to prepare me for a day of loading and unloading wagons and keeping on top of general warehouse maintenance.

If you could describe Marldon in 3 words, what would they be?

Team, positivity and fun!

What’s an interesting fact about yourself?

Not to brag but, I used to live down the road from Tyson Fury!

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?

I’m a huge fan of sports – I’ll watch or play just about anything, and I love a good holiday whenever I get the chance!

How long have you worked at Marldon?

9 years.

What’s your favourite product and why?

It would have to be the Marldon MXA200 Flexible Wood Floor Adhesive. It’s a great seller and honestly, really easy for me to package up ready for delivery!

Meet Andy, Our Warehouse Operative & Machine Expert!

Next up, let’s meet Handy Andy! He’s our Warehouse Operative & Machine Expert based at Preston who helps keep Marldon running like a well-oiled machine!

What does your role at Marldon involve?

My day involves talking to customers about machines, troubleshooting problems they’re having and sourcing spare machine parts. I also help with the loading and unloading of goods – there’s always plenty to be getting on with and you might even see me serving in our Preston trade counter.

What’s the most rewarding part of working at Marldon?

Definitely seeing the customers’ pictures of sanded and lacquered floors. It’s great to see the results of their hard work paying off and knowing I’ve played a part in helping them achieve it by servicing and repairing their machines.

What’s a typical day like for you?#

It’s a lot like Rob’s day – busy! From warehouse work to helping customers, no two days are the same.

If you could describe Marldon in 3 words what would they be?

Service, quality and integrity.

What’s an interesting fact about yourself?

I’m left-handed, but I can still get things done – haha!

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?

I’m a big fan of DIY projects and I love to get out and play a few rounds of golf.

How long have you worked at Marldon?

24 years, making me one of the longest-standing members of the Marldon team!

What’s your favourite product and why?

It has to be the MXA200 Flexible Wood Floor Adhesive. I’ve used it myself and it’s just excellent and gets the job done perfectly!

Two warehouse operatives, one stood next to tubs of adhesives and the second sat on a forklift truck

The Ultimate Dream Team!

This dynamic duo keep our warehouse in tip-top condition and their dedication and sense of humour are just a few of the reasons we’re proud of Team Marldon. We simply could not operate without them!
